Taxi prices in Padua

The City of Padua's fares in force since 1 July 2026, explained item by item. Fixed fares no longer exist: you always pay by taximeter.

What the taximeter charges

The taximeter adds a fixed starting fare and then counts kilometres or time.

How the taximeter counts

It counts kilometres or time, never both at once. It depends on the speed of the car.

Outside the City of Padua the taximeter only counts kilometres: €2.25 per km, €2.35 at night. According to TaxiPadova this rate applies from the start if your destination is outside the municipality.

Surcharges

What is added to the taximeter

The driver adds them to the taximeter at the end of the ride and must tell you which ones apply.

Tolls and ferries

If the ride uses the motorway or a ferry, the passenger pays the tolls and tickets.

From 10pm to 6am, every day: once per ride, plus €0.10 for each km
